: Pork chops--ingredient of the day--11/27

This can be the bone-in chops, boneless cutlets, or however you buy them.

I typically dip them in flour, salt them, then bake for about an hour, turning once.  They end up with a crispy browned coating that way.  Occasionally I have pan-fried them and they come out about the same...it is just getting more challenging to do that these days because they can't all fit in one pan.  Recently, I found myself with just two large chops which weren't enough for my crew, so I cut them up and did a stir-fry which we all enjoyed.

I'm pretty boring with these, I guess...maybe y'all will give me new ideas.  ;)

In the crockpot with BBQ sauce, or a cream of mushroom soup and add mushrooms.

I haven't made pork chops in a long, long time, though.

I like them battered and fried or with shake and bake in the oven. I have sprinkled them with lemon pepper and covered with Italian dressing and baked. You can cut up the leftovers and add to stir fries.Chipotle peppers and honey is good on them and baked too... curry powder or rosemary and garlic...yummy!

I have a hard time with pork chops.  I tend to over cook them so they are dry.  How long do you bake them and at what temperature?

My husband will barbecue them and we use Sweet Baby Ray's sauce on them.

I like them in the crockpot with onion soup mix, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and an envelope of pork gravy mix.  They will be fall-apart tender cooked like this.

We like them sprinkled with salt, pepper and garlic powder and maybe some Kickin Chicken spice mix.  I fry them on my cast iron grill pan.

I'm actually having pork steaks for supper tonight ( if I can remember to get them out of the freezer)  :P

So weird - we are having them for dinner tonight and we don't have them that often.  I make them a few different ways - Doug cooks them on the grill with BBQ sauce, I bake them in the oven with just salt and pepper, use Shake n Bake or a homemade version of it or cook them in the crockpot with BBQ sauce.

My MIL taught me to simmer pork chops in cream of mushroom soup. They turn out really tender and delicious, and the gravy is good over mashed potatoes.

Jennie - I have done that in my crockpot as well.

I can't say pork chops are my favorite but we do like pork steaks, pork roasts and often use them in stir fries. I have tried pork cutlets and they are so dry and often pork chops are the same way so I'd rather have just a little fat marbled in with it. We like pork with an Asian spin on it which means a sauce that is like a teriyaki sauce in the slow cooker. Yum.
