Question about tomatoes

(1/1)

Rooney:
Quick question?  Do heirloom variety tomatoes just keep reproducing indefinitely when kept in the right temp. all the time or will they quit at some point?  Hubby says the same plants just keep getting new blooms and producing over and over again.  Is this normal for heirlooms or how does it work?

greyhoundgirl:
I have heard they can go for several seasons at least if indeterminate and in a conducive climate.  Read a book once where this guy had grown one something like 50 feet up a building and was still getting tomatoes.

Rooney:
Thank you Catherine.  I figured you would know. ;)  We have some that won't stop blooming and some that have reached the ceiling and were just planted like 3 months ago! :o  Sure does make for less starts to plant. :)
