I am about ready to wrap this quilt, so I had Kevin stand on the deck and hold it up so I could take pictures. Didn't work so great because the wind is blowing, but you can get an idea. It is a log cabin done in the furrows layout. I did very simple outline quilting around the logs, kind of in a spiral. This is a queen size. I worked on it all summer. It was my summer project and I doubt that I ever attempt to hand quilt another one this big. It was a monster to twist around on my lap. Thankfully this has been a cool summer and the ac kept me from cooking. LOL
I put a strip of the one round of logs down the center of the back since the 6 1/2 yards of fabric I bought was not wide enough when I cut it in half (3 1/4 yds each piece) and placed them side by side. LOL The blocks you see on the right are just where the front blew around to the back on Kevin.
Here is a close up of one of the blocks. In each center block I quilted a star with a heart in it and their first initials 'H' and 'C' in the upper corners. I think they will like it. Lots of fabric, work, time, and love went into this quilt.
I wanted to share with you all, since you have always been such a support to me.
Can't post it on FB yet, since I don't want Hayley to see it.
Blessings,
Winona
