Good Morning

Scary that  is October already. Well today is almost ditto of yesterday.  I actually hope to stay on task better and get more than 2 loads hauled. It is that stopping to run after kids that slows me down.  HA I am down to gathering bales and that will take some time. I so want to be done with this project. This weekend it is suppose to maybe be way colder with rain/snow. Another football jamboree on Saturday and it is suppose to be in the 40s. I plan on taking hot chocolate an blankets. Any tips from you seasoned parents out there? So the normal dishes, laundry and outside work. I want to do bookwork when I get caught up. My neighbor is the best. I am getting some tomatoes, zuchinni and cucumbers from her. Also fresh eggs. I love it.  Well off to get something done besides drinking coffee and computer.

Have a great day friends

Good morning!

My kids are all still asleep...a rare occurrence!

Just eating my breakfast and reading a bit about the shutdown.  I guess the commissary will be open today and possibly part of tomorrow to clear out perishables, then shut down.  Our neighbor works there so that will affect her.  A guy at church Sunday said if they had patient appointments scheduled, they will be doing those at the hospital still.  Earl's job is contract, so as long as the building they work in remains open, they will be working.  We will sure miss the commissary if this lasts long.

Today is my turn to do the milk run.  Also meeting a friend later who is supposed to be moving to Korea in a few days.  Her stuff was packed by movers last week so I'm not sure how all this affects them.  Fortunately for them, her parents and sister live nearby so I guess they at least have a place to stay.

Need to figure out my next few biology labs in case I need to pick up any supplies.  I have a great group of kids in there.  They seem to enjoy the class.

Dinner tonight is pintos and cornbread.

I am so glad you all so far still have your jobs. Scary times.  Thinking of ya all. So ridiculous congress gets paid but the citizens don't. Something is messed up there. If they thought it was good for us it should be good for them also. Enough ranting  going to work to pay the taxes  HAHA

Morning Ladies!

We also got up and turned on the TV to watch the latest on the shutdown.  As someone who has lived in and around DC for almost my entire life, this hits close to home...sort of.  Many, many, many of our friends work for the government, and many are essentially out of work for the time being.  The whole area is just...weird...today.  We are the anomaly that we do not work for the federal government, and that we moved a little further away from the city last year, so we aren't impacted directly...yet.  Regardless of political affiliations, it certainly is very interesting to watch all of this unfold!

On tap for today is:

*Two loads of laundry (first one already in)
*Sweep porch
*Vacuum
*Swish bathrooms
*NSA work
*Clean/put away pool
*Make bed (put extra blanket on)

Dinner tonight is something with ground turkey.  I thawed it on Friday to make some food for Graham, and, well, he didn't make it that long :(  ;) ???.  I'm thinking skillet lasagna.

I read after posting that the Wildlife Refuge where we go to hike on Thursdays is closed until further notice.  People can drive through on the main roads but not fish, camp, or hike.  :(  Doggone it.  You'd think people could at least hike at their own risk.  That is "my place" to go when I need to destress.  We have friends who work out there so I'm sure this affecting them one way or another (if they are not part of the "essential personnel" working to take up the slack then they are not working at all).   Stinks all around.

Oh, and commissary will officially close at 8 PM tonight until this is over.

My brother-in-law and his wife both work for the government, so they're anticipating on being jobless today. And he just bought his wife a new car... ouch.

Ran to Walmart for a couple things, like a pumice stone to clean out the toilet. That's where I spent most of my labor with Logan... so just in case I have a toilet baby, I want it CLEAN! :)
