Hi Everyone!

It's already Monday afternoon and I see no one has popped on as yet!

I had a productive weekend. I took 1/2 day off on Thurs. and the whole day off on Friday to do a few things that needed to be done.

Thursday was just planning out what would happen Friday and Saturday. So Friday morning early we began to unload our very full freezer. It needed a defrost. Hubbs helped me and together we defrosted it. There were no surprises in there. We did pull out some whole wheat flour, some pork chops, some freezer pickles and some bagels to use over the weekend. A deep freezer is hard to load back up without piling stuff on top of each other making it difficult to find something. But I can get more into a deep freezer than an  upright. So, I put all the whole chickens in the built-in side bin. Then a plastic laundry basket full of frozen veggies (mostly green beans), then a cardboard box full meat products and then all the hanging bins full of chicken pieces, one full of bacon and pork, another one with jams and jellies, and the other ones with like-minded type foods. I actually have made some room and I can also find what I'm looking for. Then I combined spices in the kitchen cupboard, then I purchased more chicken breasts bone-in for a 99 cent per lb. deal.

Saturday, I grabbed some laundry detergent and toilet paper that was on sale. I then recycled and looked around at a resale store for a glass 9 x 13 pan. No luck with that but I got a Pyrex round glass roasting pan. I made a couple of loaves of bread including a white loaf, a wheat loaf and a pumperknickle rye loaf. All of them turned out wonderful. I brought my parents a mini-loaf of the wheat bread.

Sunday, we grilled the pork chops and had a parmesan crusted potato with a really good but simple salad.

Today is wet and more wet. It just keeps coming down. It also is about 16 to 19 degrees cooler than yesterday! Tonight we'll have leftovers from the weekend food. I doubt if we can walk tonight since it is torrential rain.

That's it for me. How has your day come together?

Alice

Hi Alice.
The day is basically over now.

Had an awesome weekend with all of my college girlfriends.  Bonfires, chatting, catching up, card games, walks in the beautiful colors.  It was fabulous and I feel so rejuvenated!

Doing laundry today, and making lists for the week.  Hubby leaves for on the road work Wed. morning.  I am meeting him in Detroit Friday night, and we are headed to the upper peninsula on Saturday morning for a few days.  At the end of our U.P. visit I have to drop him off at an out of town destination for him to hit the road again for a few days.  So, I need a list of clothes for his travels, then clothes for our trip, and then clothes for his second leg of work travel.  The second two groups of things need to be ready to go when I head to Detroit.  I may need to do some laundry at some point while we are gone, but we will see how it all works out.

Not too much else happening here.

Hubby, local son and his roommate cleaned out our garage and most of the basement while I was gone.  They filled a dumpster full.  Oh my, I have no idea what they got rid of, but I am pretty sure I'll never miss any of it, and I'm glad to see it gone!

Hope everyone has had a great day!
Pam
