February???  How did it get to be February already??

Time is flying by again.

I have had a busy couple of days.  We went to the tasting event at the reception venue with my son, his fiancee, and her parents.  It was fun.  Looks like they are going to be having a BIG and extravagant wedding. I'm sure it will be beautiful.  But, wow!  Glad I'm not doing all the planning.  Way too many details for my comfort level!  Glad to be the  "boy mom" this time around!
Anyway, the event was really nice.

Yesterday I had to run to the store for a quick grab of a few things for the weekend.  Son's car is toast, so he is using hubs' van.  Hubby had to go up north yesterday until Sunday, so he has my car.  That leaves me home without a vehicle.  No big deal, because I really have no desire to go anywhere.  It is super cold out around here right now.  Single digits temps real feel.  Probably going to be pretty frigid all weekend.

I am going to do a little research for hubby on-line later.

I have been working on some genealogy things.  My Aunt sent me wedding pictures of my grandparents and great grandparents.  I want to do a small Christmas tree with wedding photos of ancestors.  I am doing pretty good on my quest to find those.  I have my parents, both sets of grandparents, 3 sets of great grandparents, and one of my 3x great grandparents.  None of 2x greats, but not sure if those are going to be something I can find.  I need to think about who might have those kinds of pictures.

I have a couple of books coming from Amazon today.  Might start to read one of those.  Or, might just find some movies to watch.  I do need to do a couple of house things.  Dishwasher, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning the downstairs bathroom.  Will do those right away, and then won't have to feel guilty about sitting down and watching or reading.  No major cooking today since it's just me.  Will probably just go with the flow.  I do have some leftover stuffed pepper soup that will be good for dinner.  Super easy!

Hope all of you are having a great day!  Would love to hear what you are all up to!

Hello February and also to the next round of winter! It is another round of very cold temps and some snow in the weekend forecast. Not looking forward to that.

It's been a busy week. SIL is moving into the next part of end-of-life. She is under the care of a group that seems to know when to do the "next things" and they work with my brother. I am quite pleased with how they "see" what is coming and help him make the necessary changes for the best care for her. I still help my parents a couple of afternoons a week as she still goes to a day care during the day but it will be soon that she can't go anymore since she can't walk, talk, or swallow anymore. But when she is there they take good care of her as they have a Dr. and nurses right there all day. This is all new to me so the progression isn't something I'm familiar with. A hospital bed has been delivered to their home today so the "next" steps are being taken.

I haven't really done much at home lately. We have had soup a good part of this week and last night was breakfast for supper. I will have to get a few necessary groceries tonight and then get some freezer meals ready. Since we have our son home and since he works 7 days per week, I want to make sure he has food for all of his working days and not feel like he has to buy fast food. I'll get some sandwiches made and frozen for him as well as a few casseroles made and frozen. That way he can grab 6 meals to go with him when he works out of town for 3 days. He feels bad emptying out the fridge all the time but I'm OK with him doing that. This will be my goal for the weekend.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. I don't have a lot to do but I want to catch up on some rest.

Pam, is your son getting married this year?
Rooney, how is your husband?
Cheryl, how is your mom?

Hi girls!

Just got a little time to sit down at the computer again.  Been cleaning, doing laundry (which is never ending right now because one of my washers went down).  Trying to figure out what is for supper tonight.  I think I have settled on chicken covered with sautéed peppers, mushrooms, carrots and broccoli. Need to get a workout in while the meat is in the oven baking.  Not sure what I will do since my shoulder is hurting again today. :P  Probably a glute and ab workout.

We just got a Fresh Thyme Farmers Market in our area and I am really hoping to get to try it out this weekend, maybe Saturday.  Have any of you been in one of them?  They are supposed to be a cross between a Whole Foods and a Trader Joes.  Can't wait! :)  Hubby and I are on a low-low carb kick, so I am hoping they have some of the items I need like riced cauliflower for pizza crust and coconut flour for a wheat substitute.  Hey if you girls have any easy low carb low sugar main dish recipes, I would love to hear them!

Sunday I hope to do nothing so hubby can just lay around and rest.  He needs that right now.

Alice, what your SIL is changing over to sounds like what we call hospice in our area.  They are known for being wonderful with both the patient and the family during such a difficult time.  Wonder if it is the same organization in your area?

Pam, I have never been to a wine tasting.  Bet it was fun!

Lindsey: glad to hear the update on your husband.  I know it must be hard to wait for progress.  Hopefully the doctors can get him fixed up right away!
We have a Fresh Thyme Market in town.  It is a nice store, but I have found it to be a little higher priced than Trader Joe's.  Kind of a similar type store.  Maybe a little more upscale than TJ's.  They do have a really nice meat department, and extensive deli.  I know that Wednesday is the day to go there.  It is double sale day!  They switch over their sale ads on Wednesday, and they honor the sale ad that is ending and the sale ad that is starting on Wednesday.  If I do plan on going to FTM, I try to go on that day.

Alice: our son is getting married June 1, 2019.  They are ahead in the planning stages already.  It is full on!  She and her Mom have everything under control!  :)

Have a great night ladies!
