Hello everyone!

Hope all are well.  What are you all up to?

It is a cool morning, and looks like we might get a little rain.  Our backyard is a forest, and I was thinking I would mow that later today, but now probably not so much.  Hubs mowed our front yard a few days back, but it is looking like it will need a once over again.

Hubby has left on a trip for work.  He will be gone all week.  So, I will have to find time to get out there and mow when I can.

Youngest son and his gf used our van this weekend to move some more stuff from his house in SB.  I think he is about moved out.  He brought home his bed this morning, before hubs had to head out.  So much going on around here!

We spent the weekend pulling up the carpet in our living and dining rooms.  What a huge job!  I am so sore from spending so much time on the floor pulling up tacks and nails and such.  Now I need to sand the trim a little bit.  Layers of paint that was put on when carpet was in over layers of paint that was applied before carpet. So there is a little bit of a bump line of paint.  I think if I just sand it a little, the new paint will go on much smoother.  I have all week to get the rooms painted, so I'm taking it slow.  Just don't feel the need to rush it.
The project after that will be the hardwood floors.  They are in decent shape really, but need some attention for sure.  That will be our job next weekend.  They just need to be cleaned really well, and a couple spots need some kind of shellac or stain or whatever.   We will see what we come up with after they have a really good deep cleaning.  I'm not expecting them to be perfect.  Just decent for now.  Will start saving for a refinishing of them later.  I looked into doing that ourselves, but it seemed like a little ambitious for our skill level!

So, my goal today is to sand and paint the trim, and hopefully paint the ceiling.  Not too much of a job.  I will start painting the walls tomorrow.

2 of my boys and their girls went to visit my parents yesterday.  She has a ton of rhubarb growing, so she sent a bunch back with them for me.  I will chop that and get it vacuum sealed and put in the freezer.  I'm not a huge fan, but hubs loves it, so with him being gone, I will just store for a later date.

Did anyone watch the Royal wedding Saturday?  I watched some of it before we got started with the carpet.  I thought it was beautiful, and the day was perfect weather for them.  Didn't spend a lot of time with it since we had so much to do.

I guess that is about all that is happening here!  Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Let us know what you are up to, and how things are going for you!
Pam

Good Afternoon,

It's raining so hard here and constant rain.  Yuck. Not my thing. It's chilly as well.

We had a very long week and so very busy. It's over and I'm now tired. We tried to rest yesterday but it still was busy. We had MIL over for lunch and daughter's boyfriend came in from out of state so we had a full table for lunch. Very enjoyable but busy. I didn't have time for groceries this week so I dove into the freezer and found those ham slices hubby bought a long time ago, some frozen mashed potatoes and california blend veggies along with a jello and buns. There is very little left.

I don't feel like grocery shopping during the work week since that makes a full day so I will wait until next weekend which will also be the holiday weekend. I might be able to get by without going shopping, we'll just have to see.

I've got a week filled with meeting and then next week we start audit preparations so I guess you could say I'm entering my busy season. I still need a vacation some time this summer.

Not much else going on (yawn, yawn). I'm tired and need a nap.
