Good morning!

I'm moving slowly this morning.  I was up 5 times during the night with the cats.  Even though I keep my bedroom door closed, they have learned that if they scratch at the door and meow long enough I will get up.  Some nights it's worse than having a newborn baby in the house!

My coffee is ready so let me go have a cup and see if I can function afterwards.  I will check in with you all later. ;)

Oh, Cheryl, a crazy cat night at my house as well. Fiona, the now-4-month-old kitten, decided it was play time, with ME, in the middle of the night. I finally looked at the time, thought it was 5:15, and decided to go ahead and get up (my normal time is 5:30). However, once I was in the bathroom with the light on, I realized it was actually 3:15. Fiona's brother, Fitz, was sleeping with Micah (I didn't realize this) and she was apparently bored. Anyhow, now I feel ready to go back to sleep but need to leave with the high schoolers in about 10 minutes.

I have a hike planned for this morning, shorter than Monday. The option we are doing is 4 miles, but about halfway in there is another 2 mile loop we can take to make it 6. So we'll see how we feel when we get there with the heat and humidity. Now that school has begun, I can't start early in the morning to beat the heat. :(

Micah has his first day of ACTS (gifted and talented programming for which he is bussed to another school) for this year today, so is excited about that and up extra early.

Dinner? Well, I need to figure that out soon and thaw something. Hope y'all have a great day!

Add my cat to the naughty list last night! Moaning/whining/meowing for some odd reason. She has been doing that a lot lately at night. I have no idea if she sees something outside or if she is sick or wants to play. But I am sick of it.

We're having a neighborhood picnic in my backyard tonight. It is a bring your own item to grill and I think a dish to pass around. I'll just do hotdogs with chili for those who want that and I might try a ravioli casserole. I'm not going to make a big deal out of the picnic and I'm not moving a lot of furniture out. The organizer is not me so we'll let the organizer do all the busy work. I'm just providing the bigger yard.
