Yeah, the night owl is up again. I had two naps on Sunday.  ::)

My Monday plans are...
-do at least 2 loads of laundry, three if I'm on a roll. Clothesline can only handle 2 at a time.
-make banana bread, got a bunch that are super ripe
-load up the thrift store stuff into the truck. There's a saw and axe that I don't want Caleb touching.

Otherwise, most of the day will be spent keeping the boys out of trouble. :)

Good morning Leah and all who follow.  It's a chilly 45F out this morning, but it will be back in the 60s later.  I have tomatoes to skin and get into the freezer, and also a big bowl of beans to blanch and freeze.  I also want to pickle some peppers .  We love them on pizza, and ran out this past year so I want to do a lot of them.  Julie and I need to get to the library today to pick up a book she has on hold.  I desperately need to vacuum at some point, and if I get laundry done in there somewhere that will be a bonus. :)

I'm seriously thinking of resorting to sleeping pills so I can get a decent night's rest.  I don't know what the problem is, if it's age related (I'm 46), or what, but I need some sleep! :(

Today I will do school with Emily.  After that, I want to spruce up the front porch, sweeping down any cobwebs and putting away anything that doesn't belong.  I'd like to get my fall decorations out soon.

Right now I'm just enjoying my coffee while reading the board.

Have a great day! :)

Good Morning

We had rain! Yeah! Like 1.80"! Holy toledo! So I wont be baling again today unless it really dries out towards evening but I doubt it. I plan on doing more house cleaning. I am trying to get at the deeper cleaning stuff. I got most of the ironing done yesterday. Some was still in the laundry. Need to get camper ready for this weekend for nephews wedding. Last time to use it so we will winterize when we bring home.  I need to make phone calls today to get our land deal moving. We just purchased some land to increase our farm/ranching operation. Kinda scary but yet exciting. Makes you work harder,

Time to get kids up

Have a great day

Good morning everyone  :D

Cheryl, it must be an age thing.  I'm almost 45 and it was after 2:am before I got to sleep last night.  That 6:15 wake up alarm was about more than I could bear.  ;) Have you ever tried Tylenol PM?  Ever once in awhile I'll take one of those and I sleep pretty good.  If I take 1, it doesn't make me feel hung over the next day.  I think it's Tylenol with a touch of Benadryl in it.  Of course Leah probably knows of some oils that would help.

Well so far this morning I have gotten Lainey up, dressed, fed, lunchbox packed and her to school.  Today was her first morning of walking in by herself.  She was nervous but she could tell me the route she needed to take to get to her classroom.  Caylon walked her in every morning last week but this is Caylon's early week so she isn't able to take Lainey.

The rest of the day will be spent doing laundry and trying to get this house back in order after the weekend.  I don't know what it is about weekends but they put my house is in shambles.

Supper tonight is some type of breakfast food....waffles or omelets.

I hope everyone has a great Monday.  :D

Beth

Good Morning :)
Cheryl and Beth it is most definitely an age thing to have insomnia. I was having a horrible time of it while I was going thru menapause, and finally had to give in to some sleep meds. I tried Lunesta and it was horrible, really BAD nightmares. Then he started me on a low dosage of Ambien and that helps alot. The bad thing is that sleep meds are very addictive so I do not take them every night, just when I need sleep badly.
It is a beautiful morning here, the sun is shining but it is suppose to get back into the 90's today. I will be so glad when this summer weather breaks I am so over it.
I have a few clothes to wash tonight and dinner to cook but other than that I have a weight watcher meeting tonight.
Hope everyone has a glorious day.

It is a wild and wet morning. We woke up to a light drizzle and it escalating into a thunderstorm with lightening. It has been raining a torrential rain and I had to drive to work in flooded roads. We didn't let our 17 yo daughter drive to school this morning because of the water was so high.

The sleeping issue has been bothering me as well and my age is over 50.  I always used to sleep like a rock all night long and now I am restless in bed the whole night.  I toss and turn all night long.  We should start a menopause thread because I hope someone can help me determine if I am going through menopause or not. My ob/gyn said that if I don't have problems with the regularity then I don't need to be seen by her anymore and to call only if I have problems. Well, I guess I don't have problems but it sure would be nice to be done with the monthlys.  My mom even exclaimed "you're not done with that yet? You're over 50!"  I have a slew of other problems but not bad enough to warrant a dr. visit. Sore left lower side of my back kind of like a pulled muscle. Fine when I lay down but not fun when I sit for a long period of time.  I have a heel spur and now I wear orthotics in my shoes. Restless sleep, sometimes even overheating though not until winter and not all the time. Some irritability.  I'm just falling apart it seems.

Alice I understand about falling apart!!! I am 55 and I have been in really good health all of my life. Now I am scheduled to have nose surgery due to carcinomas in October and I found out last week that I have a Hiatal Hernia so I am on a ton of meds to clear up the acid reflux so I can be scoped. Such is life I guess! :)

Good morning,

I am about ready to get the laundry out on the line. Figured I'd pop in here for a bit first. After the laundry, I need to work up the rest of the tomatoes that SIL gave me. I am just coring them and popping in bag, then the freezer. I can deal with them this winter to make whatever I want when I take the bags out. The mosquitoes are horrible right now. Not looking forward to standing at the clothesline, but it has to be done.

I have been planning out the log cabin quilt I want to make for my niece for her wedding. Thankfully she isn't getting married till next August, so I should have time to get it done. I am down to 2 blocks left on the Shadowy Stars quilt and just the top borders.  I hope to sandwich and get start quilting the 36 patch I made for our bed after this one is finished.

Well, I guess the clothes are not going to hang themselves, so I need to get with it. You all have a great day.

Blessings,
Winona

Good afternoon ladies,

I just got back from Kroger, seriously my fridge was bare!  Then all I did was wander the aisles grabbing different things...I need to make a list next time.

Went to the local meat market for our favorite deli meats and cheeses too.

Coby and I made a decision regarding our late son's house, we will be renting it.  It has been empty since last December and we listed it in January.  No buyers as its a tough market around here so we are happy with our decision and have a great renter ready to move in this October.  We didn't want to be landlords but we have to be realistic about it not selling too.  Hopefully this will be an easy transition for us.

I need to carry my canning supplies to the basement,  wipe down the counters and sweep the floor.

Hope everyone has a nice afternoon, take care

One load of laundry done and hanging. Banana bread baking in the oven. I wish I could lay down for a little bit... but 3 year olds have amazing powers to create trouble. ;)

I have all the laundry done, even off the lines and put away. Kevin sent me to town for some stuff, so I went ahead and got my chicken/duck feed. Since it was 95* with over 100* heat index when I got home, I am waiting till evening to unload the feed.  :D

I will also be waiting till later in the week when it is supposed to cool down before I try bringing any more stuff home from the storage building. You cannot believe how hot it is inside that building. I must be sure I don't put anything in it that heat will hurt.  ;)  I am anxious to begin organizing, but had to be realistic. I don't deal well with heat. I am so ready for fall temps.

Mom called and talked for a while. I usually talk to her daily, but we have been so busy, it has been more like every other day.  :) She went to the parade at our county fair Saturday and about cooked. She said she went home early, just too hot for her.

Since it is so hot out, we are both just sitting in the ac and piddling on our laptops. You all have a lovely evening.

Cathie, happy birthday to Superman!

Blessings,
Winona

Good afternoon Ladies,

I was going to post now and tell about my day but my father just got here. I will try to post this evening once I get some "down-time".

Pray for me. I am not feeling great because of sinus trouble but I do want my dad to feel welcomed and that he is not a problem....

Thanks!

Fall - promise me that you will be here on time!!!  Lol...

I don't know when fall is coming, but I keep hearing people say that it's going to be a cold winter.

Second load of laundry got rained on. Third load is still sitting in the washer. Going to look outside and gamble whether I should hang it or just pay $1.00 and use the dryer. Eh, rain is just another rinse, right? ;)

Pretty average day around here.  Over 90 so stuck inside today.  Got school done with the oldest five by mid afternoon.  Had 6 loads of laundry including cloth diapers which we switched back to because the diaper bill had gotten outrageous.  Noticed I had not yet ironed hubby's work clothes for the week, so got that done before supper.  Had a few minutes this afternoon to try out some new disinfectant wipes on the fridge, dishwashers and oven.  They work well but I will have to get used to the smell of lemongrass. Otherwise today was just the normal caring for the little ones and not much extra.  Maybe tomorrow will be a little more productive.

How many children do you have in diapers? When the baby is born, I'll be having 3 kids in diapers. :o I part time cloth diaper and have fallen off that wagon.

Leah
I have 3 in diapers full time, one of which I am hoping to get trained soon and one more that uses them to prevent the nighttime accidents.  I like the idea of cloth diapers, but I'll be honest I don't like the upkeep (kinda yucky) but the savings is so big I have to keep it up.  We were spending, get this, over $200 a month on the eco-friendly diapers  and that is excluding wipes.  That is as much as some people's car payment.  Had to stop.
: Re: Monday, September 9, 2013
: Leahsgarden September 09, 2013, 09:59:09 PM
I hear you on the upkeep! I've wimped out mostly because my colostrum is in and it causes runny poops in the boys. Not something I want to be scraping off (diaper sprayer didn't work out in my favor), but I did buy some of those Grovia diaper liners. Logan poops anywhere from 2-6 times a day! So it's been hard to muster a willingness to clean that 2-6 times a day. :P

The sanitizing setting on our washer gets a workout.  There is a baby right beside me preparing more work as I type, so yeah sometimes I miss the disposables.
