Tuesdays (and Thursdays) are my "long" days. Chris is gone about 8-9 hours for his job and classes. Last Thursday the internet went out all day and I just had the hardest time coping! I never realized how much those little 5 and 10 minute YouTube breaks for the boys were saving my sanity. The boys were bored and keeping me on my toes, to the point where I had 8 contractions in half an hour. Yes, I ended up breaking down towards the end of the day and just crying because it was 4pm and I still hadn't had my lunch, Caleb just spilled some more food and there was broken glass in the sink.

Thankfully Chris spent some extra time on Monday night cleaning up the house so I have one less thing to worry about with the boys.

I'm hoping writing out what I need to cover tomorrow will help me not forget it so much! I think three times now my husband has reminded me that I'm supposed to do pizza.  ;D

-cook noodles for the boys in the morning so I have "easy" food to feed them throughout the day.
-laundry... this is iffy, since it's supposed to rain some more. The load in the washer needs to be re-washed.
-make pizza, this should help keep Caleb's hands busy.
-load the thrift store stuff, didn't get to it Monday.
-check Logan's diapers a lot... we're missing when he poops (sometimes less than an hour apart) and he's got a horrible rash right now. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wished his poop had a smell!  :o

Today I need to get caught up on laundry. Chad laid new carpet in my hallway yesterday. It looks really nice. Seeing how nice of a job he done, I am now considering having him lay carpet in my living room. But I've got to save for it first. :(  We painted the kitchen over the weekend. And I want to paint my living room, too. We moved here almost a year ago. We used to live just right down the lane. I love it here. But it is a fixer upper. We've been doing all we can this year, but money is always needed to do more!

I would also like to make some pumpkin whoopie pies today! They look really good.  I'm in the fall spirit, even though its going to be 94 in my neck of the woods today. I am so ready for cooler weather. When do you all start decorating for fall? I want to put some orange lights on my grapevine tree and around my porch. I cant wait to get pumpkins! I am going to get some mums this weekend. My nieces were selling candles and tarts for school. I bought some pumpkin and apple scents.  Have I mentioned I just love fall? lol

You all have a great day!

Good morning!

I have several loads of laundry I need to do, some general straightening up around here, and I'd like to bake an applesauce cake.

I'm in the fall spirit too.  In years past, I'd start fall decorating around the first of September.  I haven't done any this year because it's been so hot and I haven't really been in the mood.  I started cleaning up my front porch yesterday and I think I'll give everything a good scrub then maybe put out some decorations.

My daughter gave me a scentsy bar called Apple Press and it makes the house smell so good!  That's probably why I'm wanting to make that applesauce cake! :)

Good morning another beautiful but hot day here in Alabama. Today is United Way Day Of Caring and the company I work for are big supporters, it is always such a blessing to get out in the community and lend a helping hand.
After work I have to go to the library to return some books and a little laundry and I should be done. It is veggie night at our house so easy peasy! :)

                 Have A Great Day!

Good Morning,
Yesterday I took care of my tomatoes, froze three pints of puree. Moved microwave with Tanya's help.
Had burgers and Eckrich sausage ready to go on the grill for when someone came home to do it.Can't carry things when your using crutches or a knee walker. Looking forward to being able to put weight on my foot, I don't like asking for help doing things.
Today I will vacuum the living room, put dishes away, write check out for taxes, their due on Mon, and I'm watching Aiden . That should keep me busy .
Enjoy your days

Good morning  :D

It's been a busy one here.  I have gotten Lainey up, ready and to school.  We forgot to comb her hair but it looked fine when she got out of the car.  :-\  Aaron was hunting this morning so I had all 3 kids to load up and hair combing just got left out.  At least she brushed her teeth  ;)  I have 2 loads of clothes on the line, everybody got fed bacon and eggs, Sam is at his part-time job, the dishwasher is running, my bedroom is cleaned and I got the wood that was busted yesterday moved and stacked.  Whew!!

The rest of the day will be spent watching the boys and piddling in the house.  I didn't get any of the syrup, dressing or marinara sauce made yesterday so I will do that today.  I also need to make a gallon of tea.

I need to also check my menu and see what's for supper.  Lainey has swim lessons at 6:15 so it will need to be something quick and easy.

Gotta run.  Holden is trying to "help" Evan out of the exersaucer.  :D

Good morning!

Today is another home day.  My vertigo was worse yesterday, so I wasn't able to do as much as I had hoped.  I'm hoping I can get it all done today.  I'm feeling a bit better.  On my list:

find 10 things to give away
dishes from breakfast and wipe down
vacuum kitchen
litter boxes
cat fountain
fold last load
vacuum stairs
make bread
make cereal

Hello, everyone!  It has been a busy day but I thought I would pop on for a few minutes to say hello.

So far today, I have gotten the girls up, fed and out the door for school; changed the sheets on my bed; gone for my annual dermatologist appointment; dropped off Doug's suit at the dry cleaners; chopped up and froze five quart containers of peaches; bagged 18 frozen peaches and put 18 more on a cookie sheet in the freezer; baked some tofu and made a sesame pasta salad with it; sent an email and talked to Madelyn's school case manager about a few issues she is having; sent an email to Corey's school regarding unpaid bills from his track injury; did the dishes and straightened up the kitchen; unpacked and put away the food from our produce delivery and took care of the dog.  Whew!  Time for a bit of rest!

I have a few more things on my list that I will try to get to today.  The emails and phone call took a good chunk of time so I may have to put a few things over on tomorrow's list.  Tomorrow's list is also long so I would like to avoid adding to it!

Dinner tonight is pasta with Swiss chard, onion and tomatoes with a salad.

Good Morning

Went out with DH to check cows after kids left for school. Still straightening house. Most of the laundry done and dishes for right now. Need to sweep upstairs and finish cleaning basement. I want to get bookwork done. My goal is to start making Christmas presents. I have a silhouette machine I have never used. ugh Right now with the land deal it is just paperwork. I am trying to get an inventory of what I need for pantry items for winter. I really am in pretty good shape and trying to use up what we have. I have a beef that will be ready from the butcher in about 2 weeks.

Have a great day

Good afternoon,

I put 7 1/2 quarts of purree tomatoes in the freezer this morning. Also turned in the written notice that we will no longer be using the storage unit. I brought a load of stuff home from the storage. I think I have 2 more car loads to get home. I am loving the new storage building. I know I called it the 'stinking shed' while we were putting it together, but now that it is done, I love it. So nice to have all my things just a few feet away. The shelves we put together Sunday are wonderful. It will make finding things, much easier.  ;)

The plan is to get up early tomorrow and try to get the storage cleaned out, then sweep it good. Then I need to start organizing the building here at home. I may wait a couple of days for that, though. It is supposed to cool off on Thursday. Ninety five degree temps make the shed just a little too warm to work in. LOL  :o

Kevin and I have really let the healthy lifestyle go the past 2 weeks.  :-[  I hope to have a healthy grocery list made by Friday, so we can get back on the wagon. I really need to get back to kick boxing. I have found that I really enjoy kick boxing videos.  ;D Kevin goes back to work Monday, so I will start back on my formal exercises.  ;)

Everyone have a good afternoon.

Blessings,
Winona

I hope you take some time to look at your stored away fabrics, and maybe do some fabric rotation for inspiration. :)

Already thinking about that, Leah. I have at least 8 large bins of fabric, and many, many smaller bins. I really should not be buying any fabric for a long time.  ???

Blessings,

Well, today was another not get much extra done day.  School with the oldest 5, one of which is just beginning to read.  Don't know what I would do without the trusty Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. :)  Did get 6 loads of laundry done, but these are just the loads that keep up (or what I refer to as my have to loads) so I think I will throw a load of shoes in just to get a little ahead.  Got the kitchen countertops and sink wiped down.  Must have run the dishwashers 8 times today because I don't know how I could have allowed this to happen, but I ran out of paper plates. Yikes!!!  Other than that just the everyday things of taking care of littles and cleaning up all the small messes. :)

I do still have to clean out the fridge and freezer as tomorrow is trash pickup.

Leah,
I can totally sympathize what it is like to be taking care of little boys while pregnant without dh being home a lot.  Hubby works about 10 hours a day Mon-Fri.  It is better now than it used to be.  He used to work a lot more.  Do your little boys nap at all during the day or can you put them to bed later so you could get some extra rest in the mornings on those days?  I also get not realizing until your halfway through the day that you haven't had time to feed yourself, even though you have fed them 4 or 5 times by then. :) What's up with the pizza?  Gestational diabetes or something?
: Re: Tuesday, September 10, 2013
: Leahsgarden September 10, 2013, 10:18:52 PM
The pizza was because I needed to use up a pineapple. :) I made the dough, loaded it with chicken (firm believer of eating a lot of protein while pregnant), topped it with cheese and pineapple. A little dry, but easy snacking for tomorrow.

Thankfully, no gestational diabetes! Mostly my iron is a little low, and my hematocrit too. My iron pills were making me lightheaded, so I had to stop taking that.

I think it's the lack of consistency that makes the long days so hard for me. Before we moved here, Chris worked 9 hours every week day. I only had Caleb, but I had a routine. It was the same, day in and day out. Now the schedule gets shaken up every couple of months, and I struggle to adjust. In the spring, Chris was gone for a couple hours in the afternoons, a couple hours in the evenings for his class and job. Then he got 1.5 months off before he had his summer class, which was about 4 hours every morning Monday-Thursday. I really liked that, since he would be home in the afternoons and I could nap. ;) Then he got another month off. Now it's Tuesdays and Thursdays that are heavy duty, with him trying to go in a few hours everyday to work on his thesis. He'll finish up his thesis in October, and then his schedule will be looking a lot more free. The yo-yo-ing is just hard on me, as soon as I adjust, I get a new curveball thrown at me.

Logan takes one long nap, or two shorter naps. He's fairly easygoing and doesn't want to be busy all the time. Caleb just stopped napping last month because he was staying up until midnight or so. Caleb is what a lot of people would call a high energy or high spirited child. I keep saying we need a farm so he can have a bunch of chores to do! He's 3, but he has a lot of fine motor skills and wants to do the "harder" stuff. He's not happy with just stirring the food in the bowl, he wants to measure out all the ingredients, do the scooping and pouring and such. VERY hands on. Which means a lot of supervision is needed. :P
