Fruit flies?
« on: January 22, 2015, 08:57:47 PM »
Ok, this is weird, but for the last 5 or so months we have had what appears to be fruit flies? ???  The weird part is they are only in the toilet bowls! :o  Oh and in the laundry room a bit.  Hubby has them at work as well, in the same place. People in our area have complained of the same "nasty critters" in their homes.  Does anyone else have these right now?  I can't get rid of them.  They have been around so long that we have a name for them...toilet bugs. YUCK! We have used flyswatters,  I have cleaned with baking soda,
comet with bleach and they are still there?  Any ideas to get rid of them?  This is too weird and not to mention gross!  They gotta go!!  Need a solution. TIA

Vinegar in a small bowl (preferably red wine vinegar or something like that).  That alone will trap many.  But you can also use a rubber band to hold plastic wrap over the bowl, then punch tiny holes with a toothpick.  These keeps them from getting back out so you retain more of them.
