So with your squash to get what you buy in the store - all you have to do is cook it and scoop it out.  Cut in half scoop out seeds (either dry to grow more squash or give to your chickens) Put on sheet cake pan with either foil or parchment paper for easy clean up.  Then bake at 350 for about an hour I think test with fork.  Then let it cool off scoop out and freeze or whatever

Oh good Janice, that isn't much more difficult than baking sweet potatoes. :)  I think I will leave out the brown sugar, but that is simple and I need simple.  That is good enough for me and any of the kids would eat that. Once more of it comes in, I will use your freezer method.  Easier than I thought it would be.

In the bowls by my mixer is the oldest eight's lunch one day of butternut squash soup with added pasta, peas, green beans and corn.  Fills them up on a cold day. :)
