Yea! I'm in and it was so PAINLESS to sign-up and get approved.  I have been missing in action for a long time and here's why:

I moved my family back to the city! We've lived at a half-way point between two larger cities in a 4 BR country home. My husband retired EARLY from his job on Dec. 1, 2012 and though we liked the country (been there 22 yrs.!) it seemed like most of our dealings were in one of the cities. So, our reason for being there was gone and we sold our home very quickly and moved into a smaller 3 BR home all within about 8 weeks.  It was a stressful time of selling and even worse for buying since there really was nothing available and if it was it was gone overnight.  God was there and selected a perfect though smaller home for us. There are benefits to that since we are getting older, the kids are almost ready to go their own separate ways and being closer to the city could be good. We still have a country looking backyard and could even put in a garden if we want to next year.  We're closer to aging parents and even needed to help my dad on Sat. with my mom getting sick (now we're only a 5 minute drive to their home!). We are still getting adjusted to our little community with neighbors much closer to us but they seem to be nice and it is really quiet all the time in our neighborhood.   The kids aren't all happy especially my 20 YO daughter because she says this isn't her home. She is old enough to someday find her own country home if she likes and I pray she will begin to accept that this is where Dad and I need to be as WE get older.

20 YO daughter is in Peru until Christmas doing a study abroad for her college major and 19 YO son is living at college as well. We only have 17 YO daughter with us and our life is changing with only one child at home (for now anyway).

Hopefully, I can post more often but I'd much rather READ about everyone else than to post.  I'm so thankful to Crystal for all the years she put into this forum and now to Shelly for creating the continuation for those of us who need this in our life!

Have a wonderful day everyone,
Alice

Alice - wow, that is a lot going on.  Welcome back!

Cheryl -  :)

I've got a doctor's appt with an ENT here pretty soon, so I will need to scoot off of here in a few minutes.  I've been having vertigo and various other issues for close to a month now and my regular doctor believes it is an inner ear issue.  I'm hoping to get some relief soon.  Other than that, I plan to do the challenge I've assigned myself to get some things out of the house and make some cereal.  Having no idea how long I will be gone for this appt has left me with a mostly empty to do list.  :)

I hope you all have a great day!

Wow Alice, sounds like a lot of changes, but for the better.  I am sure your kids will get used to it, home is where your family is after all. :)

This week has been about tomatoes for me.  I bought 50lb last weekend, then my brother and his wife came to visit for the long weekend.  We had a great visit but that meant the tomatoes had to wait until Tuesday.  I am happy to say that there is not a single tomato on my counter now.  Instead there are 14 pints of salsa, 7 quarts of canned tomatoes and another 10+ lbs in the freezer waiting to be made into salsa.  But I know that in the garden there are a ton more of them waiting for me.

Also  today is school with Julie, the usual laundry, and I have some overripe bananas that I should make into banana bread.  I love this fall weather, it makes me feel like baking.

I hope everyone has a great day, and many thanks to Shelly for making this board happen.  I am sure it  took a lot of time and effort, and I do appreciate it :)

Blessings,
Andrea G

Shelly, praying for you about your health issues.  That must make things difficult with two small kiddos to deal with.  Praying that you get some answers and that you are healed. :)

Good afternoon.  :D

I just now got signed up to join this forum and decided to post a "Hello".

I need get Lainey from school in about 15 mins and I'll run by the bank to make a deposit since the bank is .25 mile from the school.  I've been trying to combine errands when I can.

I hope everyone has a great Friday night.  Caylon, her 2 kids and I are going "to town" and I can't wait.  No cooking for me!!!  :)  Caylon is going for diapers, formula, baby food and invitations for Lainey's birthday party.  Me....I'm just going for the ride.  :)  I'm not even taking my pocketbook.  I'll take enough money for a cheap supper and that's all I"m spending.  ;)

Good afternoon ladies,

Shelly, everything looks so fresh and pretty. You are doing a good job.

We haven't done a lot today. Kevin is still sore from his fall yesterday. I have done up part of the tomatoes that I got last night from my sis-in-law.  We took some measurements for Kevin to build me some shelves in the new shed. Goodness, freestanding shelves are expensive. Kevin said he thought he could build them cheaper. So I said go for it.  ;D I want some shelves to store my kitchen gadgets that I don't use all the time, like my grain grinder, meat grinder, mixer, extra crockpots, roaster, bread machine, etc. No point in  having stuff in here that we don't use all the time. I think I will wait till he gets my shelves done to start moving my stuff home.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Blessings,

Good evening everyone,

I have had a busy day.  I worked from 2 -7 then ran by Kroger for some snack items.  Then home to cook dinner.  Just finished up.  Too late for me.  Yuck.  I am so grateful for Shelly opening this forum so we can keep in touch.  I hope to be on more.

Yay! Made it here. :)

It's been a pretty busy day. Midwife appointment this morning, gym for Caleb at noon, had to run to a lab to get blood drawn (iron count is a little low), and then we paid two bills and went grocery shopping.

I think I have a bit of a headache, either from my cold or the blood draw. They took 4 vitals of blood, and guessing on their size, I think it's a total of 37 cc's. I only lost 30 cc's of blood during Logan's birth. With my heavier periods, I tend to "cling" to my blood.  :o

Thanks.  The doctor didn't have any definite answers for me.  He performed some tests there in the office and I tested positive for about half of them, so he's concerned that it may be something neurological and not with my ears.  I'm having about a dozen tests performed next week over the course of 3 days to see if they can pinpoint the real problem or determine if I need to see a different specialist.  I've lost some of my hearing and I'm constantly stumbling, sick, in pain and spinning, so I am definitely praying for some answers soon.
