Zesty Italian dressing
« on: October 25, 2017, 06:04:54 PM »
While organizing my pantry I found 2 bottles of Kraft zesty italian dressing.  Since we don't eat this on salads, I must have bought it to use in a recipe.  Problem is, I can't remember what recipe.  ???  Anyone have any favorite ways to use this?

is that a red zesty italian or is it an herby oil/vinegar dressing.

If it is the red one like a french dressing maybe that was for a taco salad that uses that dressing.

If it was the herby oil/vinegar I'm thinking about an antipasto (sp?) salad. The kind with tomatos, olives, salami, parmesan cheese and pasta. I've also heard about a chicken crockpot recipe with a bottle of this kind. I haven't tried that one. I don't normally buy bottled dressings but I have purchased it for the pasta salad. Seems like it had high fructose corn syrup or something in there that I didn't like.

Just thinking about the second one makes me want to have it. I didn't make that this summer at all. But it sounds good.

It's the herby/oil vinegar.  I don't normally buy bottled dressings either, but for the life of me I can't remember what recipe I was wanting to try.  If all else fails, I can always marinate some chicken in the dressing and grill it.

That's the dressing I usually use for pasta salad.

I have also used it for a chicken marinade.

So, you girls have covered both the bases that I know of.   :)

One of my favorite vloggers, The Encouraging Homeschool Mom, just throws the Italian dressing in the crockpot with a bunch of chicken breasts and calls it "Itallian Chicken."  That's my kind of "recipe". lol ;)
