Nativity Glass Blocks
« on: December 13, 2013, 03:18:49 PM »
My sister did a set of these blocks for my mom and dad several years ago.  I really liked them so I bought two blocks this year.  Next year I hope to add another block to it with the wise men.  Josie and I had fun doing them.

We used an exacto knife to cut out the silhouettes from some black scrapbook paper.  We used Mod Podge to put it on the block.  Josie sprayed the inside with some clear glitter paint.   We finished it by putting in some white lights and a bow on top.

Oh I so love it. I have a silhouette machine I could cut them out with. Do you have a site where you found the design?

Thanks
Janice

Janice,

Here is the site that I got the silhouette images from.

http://www.hymnsandverses.com/2012/12/diy-silhouette-nativity-templates.html

I had Josie fool around with the sizes a bit on the manger to fit it on the block.  I taped each piece to the black paper and once I had it how I wanted it, I cut it out as one piece.

The site only has the shepherd's and Manger scene.  It does have a few animals.  I want to find one with the wise men.  I just googled silhouette images and found one that I liked.

My parents have four blocks in there set.  One block has an Angel, one of the shepherds, one of the manger scene, and one of the wisemen.
