Avocado-ingredient of the day-12/19/13
« on: December 18, 2013, 08:32:53 PM »
I forgot this the past couple of days, sorry, so am posting this for tomorrow.  We're going hiking so I'm not sure I'll remember to do it before we leave.

I used them:
-in an avocado bean salsa

-in a tomato avocado salad

-in guacamole

-on a grilled cheese, bacon, and tomato sandwich

Guacamole!  I don't get too fancy with mine, just mush up the avocado, add garlic salt and lime juice.

I also eat them on salads and sandwiches.

My husband loves to eat these plain or on sandwiches.

I use them in guacamole, salads and sandwiches, too.  I also sometimes just eat on cut up or spread on toast or cut up on top of hummus spread on hummus.

In restaurants, I have had fried avocado that was amazing as well as a crab and avocado salad.  A restaurant near us serves a mixed green salad with a sliced avocado on the side.  The avocado is drizzled with an Asian sesame dressing that is to die for!!!
