Oooohh.....I'm going to have to check this site out in detail.

I really need some new meal ideas. I feel like I'm getting in a rut and there's a lot more winter to go.  I can't be in a rut yet!!!  :o

We have just been winging it to much lately. Lots of grilled cheese, soups, grilled hamburgers. DS is wanting sloopy joes instead of ribs on traeger.

Our January meals, not in any particular order yet.  Just want to be sure I have all ingredients and then will put them on the weekly menus based on when I need a crockpot meal, to use up leftovers, etc... .  One constraint for me this month is forgetting to order those potatoes.  I have that bucket of sliced dehydrated potatoes and will use those for au gratin and maybe fried potatoes as well as potato salad to conserve my fresh ones for mashed/baked.  So I tried to plan a lot of meals NOT using potatoes this month.

Broccoli cheese soup (requested by Morgan)
Eggroll in a bowl-twice this month--new to us but so good and economical
Beef fried rice
Vegetable beef soup
Brisket, hot potato salad, baked beans--anyone have a great hot potato salad recipe?  Haven't ever made it.
Spaghetti with meat sauce, salad
Baked chicken, some sort of potatoes, veggie
Wedding soup, homemade sourdough
Turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, stovetop, veggie
Turkey potpie made with leftovers
Turkey broccoli casserole made with leftovers, served with rice
Baked potatoes with leftover brisket, butter, cheese, and ranch for those who like it, served with salad
Beef stroganoff (made with potato slices)
Lentil soup (which recipe still to be determined)
White bean soup with ham (with cornbread or fritters)
Pinto bean soup (with some sort of bread)
Hamburger gravy with rolls, veggie
Chicken Parmesan, with pasta, salad
Meatloaf, au gratin potatoes, veggie
Hamburgers, chips
Sloppy joes, veggies
Pizza (twice)
Zuppa Toscana soup, bread
Stir fry with rice or quinoa
Pork chops, fried taters, veggie
Chicken supreme (baked chicken with creamy rice), broccoli
Salmon patties, sweet potatoes, veggie
Red beans and rice

Our menu based mostly on items on hand -

Hoppin' John
Ham steaks, cabbage
Pizza, salad
Soup/sandwiches
Baked chicken thighs
Chili
Corned beef hash
Beans with ham hocks, cornbread
Salad Ole Mexico
Pizza, salad
Turkey burgers, oven fries
Spaghetti
Sloppy Joes
Salmon patties, potatoes, green beans
Pork chops
Cornbread salad
Pizza, salad
Hamburgers
Skillet lasagna
Chili dogs
Breakfast
Club sandwiches with soup
Sausage stir-fry
Pizza, salad
Loaded baked potatoes, veggie tray/homemade ranch for dip
Tacos
Pork chops
Chicken fingers

I need to figure out sides for most days but that should be easy.  Since Friday night is pizza night and there are 5 Fridays in January, I may change a couple of pizzas to strombolis.

Cheryl, yes, your menu looks good.  Good thought to change some pizzas to strombolis.  Maybe I should try that for my kiddos.

This is my first week of January. Trying to use up what I have.

1--fried rice with leftover ham
2--green beans with leftover ham, corn and taters, homemade bread
3--bbq ribs, buttered taters (OSU Game)
4--creamed chicken over rice with peas and corn in the cream chicken
5--omelets with fried potatoes and toast
6--hamburger, elbow noodles and tomato juice, bread
7--mexican rice with sour cream, salsa and chips with queso

I am trying so hard to make our menu as frugal as possible. Like many of you ladies, we took a cut in pay.  And the only place I can really see a cut is in our grocery budget. And even thats a miracle in itself.
