I still find it true.  The past 6 weeks or so the cupboards were looking quite bare (at least for here) and the fridge fairly so at times as well.  Yet we ate very well as I used up freezer items and things from the back of the cupboards.  Still trying to reconcile how to stay well-stocked but to use and rotate it all as well.

I don't necessarily find it harder to plan, but I certainly lose track of what we have, and often end up repurchasing like items while not purchasing items we might actually be low on!  I do love having a stocked pantry, but I also find it so appealing to do a weekly food shop for exactly what you are going to make that week, and once that's gone, you're basically bare.  Weird, I know :)
