I made soap!
« on: March 03, 2014, 10:04:38 PM »
I am so happy my first attempt at soap making worked!  I've wanted to try it for such a long time, years ago I purchased the scales with the tare option, a steel pot and a used immersion blender.

I finally found a recipe that was easy on a video at Beckyshomestead.com  I made her Goat Milk Soap w/ lavender.  So easy!  It's covered now but in 24 hours I will cut it and then i'll post a picture!!

I really enjoy learning something new!!

You will enjoy it.  Soap making is addictive.  I have been making it about 8 years or so and I wouldn't go back to store bought soap.

Yes, it is addictive!  Congratulations on your first batch...so much nicer on the skin long-term.  :)

Way to go, Pixie. I bought our Saanen goats with plans of making goat milk soap, but never did get around to it. Glad you learned something new. I have not used store bought soap in years. Not sure my skin could tolerate store bought any more. LOL Looking forward to seeing your picture.
